

Since 1985, wild catches have not been increasing, while aquaculture has shown an annual growth of 8%. Analyses by FAO and other similar institutions, verify a continuation of this trend. Aquaculture is going to be the main future supplier of fish to a rapid growing world population. Presently, aquaculture accounts globally for approximately 50 mill. MT or between 35% and 40% of the total world consumption of fish.
During the past 10 years, a growing number of species have been domesticated and this trend will increase steadily in future, enabling world aquaculture to supply markets with a large variety of products.
In this context, Aller Aqua wants to consolidate its position as a leading pioneer in developing new feeds types for an increasing number of new species in aquaculture.
