The 3rd International Carp Conference

The effectiveness and added values of extensive carp culture, possibilities and threats of intensive carp culture, as well as the place and role of organic carp culture were the main themes during the conference. Further, topics such as diseases and feeding were discussed.

Laszlo Varadi, outstanding Hungarian representative of the carp sector and international activist, summed up the progress of the Resolution after the last 2 conferences. He made an appeal for all organizations, associations and fish farms from the carp sector to exchange ideas, knowledge and information on an everyday basis, both nationally and internationally in order to provide solutions to the European Commission.

Lectures were conducted by representatives of various organizations, associations and fish farmers from the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Romania and Poland. Despite the plentiful representation from the abovementioned countries, also Croatia, Lithuania and Ukraine were represented, as well as Aller Aqua.

The International Carp Conference which was successfully established by Aller Aqua and the Inland Fisheries Institute in Poland, was previously held in 2011 and 2013. The conference has proved an excellent forum for the European carp farming sector and will in future be organized every second year in different countries where carp production plays an important role in the aquaculture sector.

For now it is predicted that the conference of 2017 will be held in Hungary.

See you there!
