Visit from Tconnect
In Nigeria we were fortunate to be visited by Tconnect; a group of dedicated young Nigerians working with UN’s SDGSs. Practically each Tconnect member is assigned ambassador of a specific goal. Tconnect’s vision is to raise and equip teenagers to become global citizens with core values based on love, integrity and passion for service to humanity. Tconnect have enrolled more than 15 teenagers to a leadership academy on scholarship basis.
Lasisi Nurudeen, Managing Director/Country Manager for Aller Aqua Nigeria Limited, and Niels Lundgaard, Commercial Director for Africa at Aller Aqua Group, met with Tconnect and answered many relevant and engaged questions from the young people about Aller Aqua’s practical work with the SDG’s, and how aquaculture in general impacts most of the goals. Lasisi and Niels explained our focus on goals 2: Zero Hunger, 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, 13: Climate Action and 14: Life Below Water, and about our participation in SDG Accelerator and the project focussing on SDG 4: Quality Education.
At Aller Aqua we experience an increased interest in our work with the sustainable development goals, and see an increase in SDG communication. We are working on concrete actions to make a difference, and believe that our 4 chosen goals are the areas where we can have the biggest impact. At the same time these goals are very close to our hearts and in line with our vision: Let’s grow together.
Meeting young engaged individuals like the Tconnect members is very inspirational, and we feel confident that they will succeed in impacting their goals.
