Aller Aqua will develop a functional feed from knowledge derived from closely related myxozoan parasite species. This feed will first be tested under laboratory conditions, followed by field trials on farms that frequently experience outbreaks of PKD.
Disease outbreaks are common in aquaculture practices, often intensified by changing climatic conditions that expose fish to stressors such as high temperatures, making them more susceptible to various diseases. Therefore, it is crucial to focus on functional elements to combat these diseases in aquaculture.
